Osteopenia Osteoporosis Osteoporosis....is It Permanent?

Osteoporosis....is it permanent? - osteopenia osteoporosis

Recently I learned that I have osteopenia, with the consequence of osteoporosis. I am 50 years old and have a family history of osteoporosis. I broke several ribs in the last year. I had been administered for the drug that causes osteoporosis (prednisone) for long periods. In recent months I have begun to walk with a stick, BC can not walk into the room without unbearable pain. I can not walk straight and curved walking. Is this permanent? I take calcium with vitamin D and Fosamax for my bones. I hope that these drugs help to resolve these problems. Who can give me advice that has the same problem? Thank you ..
